The Antica Locanda Lunetta is found in the heart of the historical centre of Mandas in the once flourishing Spanish dukedom.
Past the large oak-tree entrance, the house and its aromatic herb garden take visitors deep into an atmosphere of a past time.
The country house of the 1600s, once a staging post, was turned into an elegant welcoming inn with all comforts and a countless numbers of small hidden charms to be discovered.
Dondina and Calogero Lunetta were the original owners of the Hotel Lunetta. The rooms above the railway station once accommodated the English writer D.H Lawrence and his wife Frieda in 1921. After a century, Barbara, Gian Luca and Agostino reopened the doors of the Locanda Lunetta to travellers, once owned by their great grandfathers.
The breeze and crisp air from the hills invite passer-bys to pause and admire the romantic garden in the evening while tasting a fresh sparkling cup of Vermentino.
During cooler evenings, the comfortable lounges of the perfectly heated house with WIFI connection, welcome guests seeking comfort and relaxation, with the company of a good book or while comfortably listening to delicate background music.
